Giving

We believe that all women deserve to shine.

That’s why we donate a percentage of all sales from books, workshops and sessions to the Malawi SaniPad Project, supporting communities to make washable sanitary napkins, providing teaching, sewing machines, fabric and patterns.

This allows the girls in villages in Malawi to attend school four weeks a month instead of the previous three when they had to stay home because they were menstruating.

In addition, the project also funds better sanitation in the villages by working towards improving their access to clean water so they can wash their reusable sanitary napkins.

I strongly believe that education is a stepping stone to making change in our lives and the world. By supporting this project, we are actively helping these young women on their journey to living a life in which they can shine more brightly as their access to education increases.

This project is one close to my heart, run by a dear friend of mine, Belinda Simpson. Belinda donates her time and funds to the project, collecting donations privately, with every cent of these contributions going directly to the project; no fees, no staff wages. I love that it is a very direct, hands-on project and am so happy we have the chance to support such a worthy and relevant cause.

If you’d like to donate directly to the Malawi SaniPad Project, email Lea at lea@womenshining.co for details.
